I am a full time award winning visual artist working in Oils and Acrylic and Aqua Resin on Canvas. I have created a unique art form combining a 3-dimensional image in a 2-dimensional space, which has increasingly been drawing attention in the art community. It is my conviction that without the human aspect art would not exist; consequently, I incorporate the human form into my art to represent the human spirit. In my work I also love to explore social media issues dealing with real life situations, offering a glimpse into our social structures, interactions, and how modern day technology impacts our lives. You will find in some of the pieces satirical messages or situations that interact with the viewer or create dialogue between viewers. My newer work depicting our landscape and our urban environment also offers situations that will definitely be a conversation piece in your home or at the office; the more you look the more you will discover.
I am an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and a former Director of Exhibitions for the SCA (2012-2014); a member of the Colour and Form Society and Sothern Ontario Visual Artists, Artist, Teacher and Juror, including co-jurying the 2nd Annual Wildlife, Nature and Native Show at Beaux-Arts, Brampton with Daphne Odjig and Charles Pachter, the CFS 2'x2' show, Orangeville Art Group, Franklin CarMichael Arts Centre Juried show to name a few. I have participated in a number of committees and organizations and have served on the board at Beaux-Arts Brampton from 2003-2007 - first as Director of Marketing, and in the last 2 years as President. I have also served as VP of the Mississauga Arts Society. My work is present in many private and corporate collections throughout the world. It has been exhibited across Canada, the United States, Tasmania, and Turkey where I recently spent one week by invitation to participate in a art symposium/arts colony. I have won a number of awards in juried shows.
My life experiences are evident in my works, where I explore the natural past and present of our environment. Also, my insight into the fantasy realm is evident in my paintings, sculpture, and body castings.
My work lends itself to commission work "Be part of the process, be a part of the Art".
You may have seen my work on "Arts in B-Town", in a program on Rogers Cable, or in magazines and newspaper articles.
